Trick #3 - Don't "Hosepipe"![]() "Hosepiping" - that is, swinging your camera around pointing it at anything and everything that moves - is a huge no-no. It is the one thing that absolutely screams "This person has no idea how to use a video camera".
From the audience point of view it is extremely annoying and shaky and never lingers on anything long enough for interest to develop. So learn to use a smooth, slow camera technique that will actually show your audience things, and not just the blurry transitions as the flailing camera flits from subject to subject.
